Mom's BBQ Ribs
My moms recipe.
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic minced fine
1 slab baby back ribs or regular pork ribs
Combine the paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Rub the ribs with this mixture and place on a baking sheet covered with foil. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Place the remaining ingredients in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce cook until thickened -- about 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 275 degrees. Brush the ribs with sauce and cover with foil. Place in the preheated over and cook for 5 hours, basting occasionally with more sauce.
During the last 20 minutes of cooking, remove the foil from the ribs and brush with more sauce.
The ribs are ready when the meat is easily removed from the bone.
